Rolling Sky Remake

General Info

Rolling Sky Remake or rsr is a game developed by Pão .it is basically an easier and more accessible way to edit RS levels but very limited as of writing. it includes an user friendly level editor along with a level importer and exporter so you can play others levels,or even edit them (some levels have passwords that you need to enter in so you can edit the level).

Editing

As of now, RSR offers quite a couple of obstacles, from trees to snakes, or lasers. The game lets you choose from 5 soundtracks for your level, including massif-volcano, or you could upload your own. The speed also ranges from 1 to 10 and it lets you Preview (play the level without the ball, leaving you without the need to play trough the level without dying) or Play (play the level normally) Your level whilst editing. There are 17 themes available (massif, sky, forest, arctic desert, desert, volcano, illusion, forest, city (gray), city (yellow), sci-tech, illusion sci-tech, tetris blue, tetris purple, e-labyrinth, e-labyrinth purple, monody and castle in the sky. There's also the 3 themes from 1UP/8Bits but those cant be chosen. The game lets you choose your starting theme. A level name and author can be chosen, along with a description for version 0.0.5a(was later removed). All the settings mentioned before commonly bug out after playing the level, meaning the you have to set up your speed, music, theme etc. manually every time you play a level. The game saves your level in a .rsr file , but in version 0.0.4a, it saved it in a .png format, the in game editor also didn't exist, so you had to paint the level.

Playing

Rolling Sky Remakes gameplay is similar to those of RS, but not perfectly equal,due to the different collision, ball control and the bugs. To play a level, you must hit the play button and scroll to "Import", then chose the desired .rsr file and play it

Trivia

This game has an easter egg where you have a small chance to have your background as volcanos instead of massifs
the 5 levels in the play section are recreated, but not fully and precisely, level 5 cant be played at all
the music used for the "Import" level is those of Cloud
this game has 2 discord servers
