LEVELWAVE was inspired by Fashwave (a portmanteau of "fascism" and "wave") which is a derivative aesthetic of Synthwave or Vaporwave which is associated with alt-right/far-right/dissident right beliefs like upholding tradition, maintaining racial purity, Anti-Semitism, ultranationalism, and a rejection of post-modernist thought. While the far-right and controversial contents of this genre was seen as controversial and not right, the concept of a montage with a song playing with the -wave main genre was receptioned positively, hence making the inspiration for LEVELWAVE.
