'''The Lair''' (formerly ''AZ's lair'') is a channel in [[Rolling Lounge]], located in the '''Community Network''' category. Unlike other channels, this channel has the unique characteristic of frequently changing its name in irregular periods of time, setting a certain topic that the members are to follow.

== History ==

The Lair was first mentioned in Rolling Lounge on November 23, 2020 by AZMindroma, who created the channel.<ref>[https://discord.com/channels/400983101507108874/400983101507108876/780453698404876289 @azmindroma_2021: "&#91;link to the lair channel&#93; Should we make this public &#91;...&#93;]"</ref>, originally named '''#among-us'''. The channel was made as a joke and was first kept hidden from the public, but the staff team had considered hosting Among Us-related events in the server. However, with the seeming decline of the game, the idea was scrapped. January 31, 2021 was when the first message in the channel was posted<ref>[https://discord.com/channels/400983101507108874/780453625775652895/805466745397182514 @azmindroma_2021: "WHEN THE IMPOSTER IS SUS! 😳"]</ref> and on February 10, selected people were given access to the channel. It was this date when the channel name changes began, with the channel's initial renames being '''#spamming''', '''#prison''' and '''#e-girl-chamber'''. After several channel name changes, the channel was opened to the public, and the cycle of the channel changes kept going.

Initially, the names were changed manually by AZ. Afterwards, the Blue Heaven bot was used. Then the role of renaming the channel was moved to the Meridion bot.

The initial and only manager of the channel was AZMindroma, hence the old name of ''AZ's lair''. Following his leave from the server due to the [[April 5, 2023]] incident, the channel was archived on June 21, 2023; Nacko took over the channel on July 14, 2023, causing the channel to get unarchived. 

On June 19, 2026, Sinerack began to co-manage The Lair after being given permission to do so.

== Notable events ==
* On February 11, 2021, a fake wedding between AZ and Pink was held, with various channel renames reflecting the various stages of the marriage.
* On February 15, 2021, a one word story event was held. 
* A notable event, the Rolling Lounge Impostor Voting (RLIV), was hosted by AZ between March 19, 2021 and April 8, 2021. The event had 2 rounds, the 2nd round featuring a full story.
* Hardmode, an event where members have to compete on not getting eliminated by following increasingly difficult chatting rules, was hosted from May 23, 2021 to May 26, 2021. A second round, directly starting after the 1st round was hosted in another channel, but the announcements for the event were posted in the Lair.
* On March 26, 2021, Noah hosted the Trophy Race.
