{{Infobox Server | name = Rolling Lounge SMP | image = RLSMP.jpg | caption = Rolling Lounge SMP's logo, designed by Hamza. | servername = RL | SMP | abbreviations = RLSMP, RL SMP | owner = AZMindroma | topics = Rolling Lounge SMP, Minecraft, General Discussion | foundationdate = July 8th, 2021 | eras = Integrated SMP, RL SMP | textchannels = 36 (15 locked) | voicechannels = 1 | roles = 58 }} The Rolling Lounge SMP (Survival MultiPlayer) is a Minecraft server dedicated to the active playerbase of Minecraft players in the Rolling Lounge Community. Founded by [[AZMindroma]] in July 10th of 2021, the SMP has established an active community with its own district being created in the Rolling Lounge Network. == History == The first thoughts of a Minecraft server for Rolling Lounge had already been made in early 2021 - however, at that time this wasn't possible to do due to no hosting availability being there and free online hosting services being avoided due to their bad image in the advanced server community in Minecraft. This possibility however was changed when AZMindroma bought a [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi Raspberry Pi] which was a popular choice for Minecraft servers to be hosted on due to the very low electricity bills being charged by keeping the Raspberry Pi open 24/7. The idea of hosting the server on a Raspberry Pi was scrapped when it broke, and not wanting to buy a new one, the possibility was gone. The next possibility was opened when AZMindroma upgraded his Personal Computer to one which was powerful enough to handle a server due to its better CPU and its bigger memory. On July 8th of 2021, AZMindroma first opened the server for testing purposes, the first members to initially join the server were MikeJollie and AL164. After some testing and addition of plugins the first Discord-Minecraft connections were established, playing a big role in the server's success later on, as it attracted Rolling Lounge members to join the server by themselves looking at what the SMP was doing at the moment. While initially just a test phase, the world never got a reset and was continued until today. The server was brought out of the testing phase in July 10th of 2021. After 2 weeks of the SMP's existence, it was debated whether the SMP should have its own server (district) or not. Reasoning for a separate server were the amount of channels needed compared to the amount of channels being available to be added in Rolling Lounge due to its already big amount of channels; Reasoning against a separate server was the amount of losses the server would experience by being more "isolated". As a poll result, the SMP was moved to a new district called RL | SMP on July 24th of 2021 which then added more channel addition possibilities.
